How the status is determined
Each shared service is checked automatically at regular intervals from within the Network, and every change of status is confirmed by the office responsible for the service before it is published here.
A service is listed as Operational when it responds correctly to those checks, as Degraded when it responds more slowly or less completely than expected, and as Unavailable when it does not respond. A service withdrawn during an announced window is listed as Maintenance.

About the Status Service
The Status Service is operated on behalf of all member organisations of the Velocity Interoperability Network and is independent of the offices responsible for the individual services. Details of any interruption, including its cause and resolution, are published on the Incidents page, and the availability of each service is reported monthly against the service levels agreed at the establishment of the Network.
